CARDIFF, Wales, March 22 (UPI) -- An animal rights group in Wales, using films it secretly took of fox hunts, forced the suspension of a hunting group.
The Federation of Welsh Packs acted Monday against the Plas Machynlleth Fox Hounds after the League Against Cruel Sports showed footage of a trapped fox being attacked by terriers before being destroyed, the BBC reported.
The league said the hunting practice was barbaric, and the federation agreed to suspend the group.
Emyr Lewis, chairman of the gun pack, one of around 40 in Wales which hunts on foot, said he knew nothing of the allegations until he found out that the group had been suspended.
